The DD VO-X drivers continue the Voice Optimized tradition of blending the latest in Hi-Fidelity technology with the qualities of high-end Pro Audio to produce a tonally smooth, low distortion frequency response over a wide bandwidth through an undeniably powerful broadcast, giving listeners near and far a gratifying interaction with loud and clear audio. These midbass drivers can cover the critical frequency area from below 100Hz to 20kHz, making system design easy and they include exclusive adventure ready design features for a variety of applications.
All VO-X models use long fiber pressed cones made with water-resistant, synthetic resin to achieve both the unyielding rigidity and ultra-light moving mass necessary for a highly sensitive frequency response, while the curvilinear design of the cone profile ensures tonal smoothness into the upper octaves.
Mated to these ultra low moving mass drivers are neo-motor, compression driven tweeters with optimized horn flare for extended frequency response. Their highly unique spider and voice coil were developed by DD for exclusive performance enhancements in adventure applications, such as boating, off-roading, and motorcycle audio. The small rubber spider system adds extra protection by keeping moisture from entering the voice coil gap, and by mounting it to cone glue joints rather than onto the cone itself, the high frequency signals being acoustically reflected by the cone body are kept undamped and true.
The VO-X drivers feature high energy ferrite motors, inductance reducing shorting rings, non inductive coil formers and CCA wire to eliminate electromagnetic distortion modes.
